Shirtly Advice

December 1, 2009

Let’s face it, unfortunately, a man cannot execute every aspect of his day-to-day life in a finely tailored suit and tie. So where do we go from there? There is undoubtedly a wide range of other fashionable options. We will consider all the clothing you would not wear to a business meeting, wedding, or some other formal event, casual apparel. The entire objective of a casual approach to dress stems on the ease of preparation. A quick shower, a few minutes getting dressed, and you’re into the world to complete your daily barrage of errands and things to do. Why should an easily prepared ensemble be any less interesting than an outfit finely tuned for a night on the town? It shouldn’t, after all you never know where a fine lady will present herself, and being dressed like a schmuck should never be a deterrent to the fairer sex. For now, let’s keep it simple and focus on some upper body basics, and make sure you check out our jean selection to pull together a great outfit.

A nice clean, well fit shirt will get the most mileage of any other article of clothing you may wear. Fortunately for all of us, shirts can be found in an infinite number of colors and styles at a reasonable price point and any location. All of these options can pose a serious problem. How does a man find a shirt which allows him to separate himself from everyone else? Lets start answering this Read the rest of this entry »

Finding the Perfect Winter Hat

November 18, 2009

The Winter is fast approaching (at least where I am) and scarfs, hats and gloves are already starting to emerge from their bleak, desolate and much forgotten storage places. Winter accessories can drastically improve what is ordinarily a dreary outfit. Now, while there is no article that is more important than the other (in my opinion) lets just focus on one aspect of the attire that keeps you the warmest, the hat.

Alright, it may seem simple, but trust me this is a must have. Sometimes simple is the best thing for you. Having a black Read the rest of this entry »

Bag It

November 16, 2009

You carried your books to and fro in college and your backpack is wearing down. This gives you the opportunity to upgrade your worn out cloth Jansport to a more professional and appropriate look for the workplace. On your commute to work, you don’t want to be confused for going to class when you’re actually headed to an important meeting. I’m sure you all know that by dressing professionally you gain respect, your peers take you more seriously and if dressed well, you’re more confident. Well, this goes for each article of clothing, including accessories, namely today’s entry: Bags. And for those who just can’t get away from backpacks, I threw one in that I think you’ll like.

Winter Jackets That Will Toggle the Mind

November 9, 2009

No. You don’t have to wear a snowmobiling jacket to stay warm this winter. There are definitely stylish solutions out there. Yes, of course you want to stay warm, as do I. That doesn’t mean you have to compromise style for function. You can have both, but you gotta look. Lucky for you, I did that. Here are a couple jackets that I’ve been eying lately….I guess I’m on a toggle bender right now…you’ll see.

All the Belts and Whistles

November 5, 2009

I dare say, a mans belt can be the most overlooked piece in a mans wardrobe. Too often men settle on a belt that falls under the description of “it’s not terrible.” This is tragic. From this moment on you should consider every article of clothing an adjective that says something about you, and what are you saying if you settle on a belt that “is not terrible?” So, to help you on your new adjective hunt I have put together a short list of a few belts to better describe your inner man.

Jeans Please

November 5, 2009

Jeans. For a guy, they’re probably the most important aspect in an outfit. Jeans are essentially the canvas or foundation in which you create your outfit. Now, the classic and safe look right now is dark colored jeans. But picking up a pair of jeans can be tricky. Here are some tips that’ll bring you to the forefront of fashionable jeans.

John Varvatos Cardigan

I found this nice little cardigan by John Varvatos poking around the interwebs. I know what you’re thinking, “cardigans are old hat,” (fashion pun, hey-o) and I couldn’t agree more. However, with cardigans their are so many different styles being played with these days that finding the uniquely dapper one you’ve been looking for can still be accomplished. Boot Scoot and Boogie

November 5, 2009

More boots? Yes. There are so many amazing boots out there that are yet to be discovered which is exciting because that means there are plenty of opportunities to find a great pair and set yourself apart from the crowd. Especially in the early brisk weather season when its dry before the nasty wet and cold there are chances to wear modest yet eye catching boots. In the fall and winter months tennis shoes are not only not fashionable but they are non-functioning. Boots are more and more appropriate as they can be stylish and practical.
